Advantages of Torque Sensors
Torque sensors provide a more natural riding experience by providing assistance that is proportional to the rider's effort rather than simply providing a fixed level of assistance. This can improve the rider's experience by providing a more natural and intuitive ride, as well as improving the efficiency of the bike's electric motor.

Basalt features a flexible and adaptive hydraulic front fork that helps smooth bumps and improves off-road performance. In addition, the fork has a lockout lever to allow for quick adjustments while riding to stiffen or soften the fork, depending on weight and riding style.

The thumb throttle is more comfortable and safer than the half-twist throttle, and it can reduce wrist strain and eliminate the fatigue brought by long time riding.

We use the TEKTRO HD-E350 hydraulic disc brake, which is characterized by high stability, low reaction force and high safety factor as an oil brake. Compared to wire brakes, which are prone to aging, corrosion, overuse or brake fracture, oil brakes are also safer than wire brakes.

The ride is impressively stable and comfortable. Very responsive on steep and gentle mountain roads in our area.
CanadaVery nice Bike BUT…
Customer Service is a disgrace. You cannot reach them by phone because the call will be disconnected While on hold after about 20-30 min. There are NO parts or Service locations in Canada. If you get a response from support email, it will take days of going back and forth to troubleshoot any problems. If you are able to determine the problem, it takes weeks to get new parts shipped from China. So if you still want to purchase from this site after being aware of the problems, you should purchase two bikes, 1 for parts and the other to Ride!
CanadaAre willing to gamble that money on a Lucky experience?
Let's start off with the bike itself, assuming it works! Solid bike with nice lines but very heavy. Great power for heavy riders. I'm 6'3" 260lbs and it takes me up a very very steep hill where I live in Paris Ontario (at least it did while it worked). Let's move on to Canadian Customer Service, or lack thereof. Although there is an email for support, you will extremely luck to get a response in any reasonable timeframe. If you try to call them, you will be on an annoying musical hold for about 20-30 min then get disconnected. Try as much as you want, you will never get through. I can only surmise that they have a warehouse with 1 person doing shipping/receiving, email and phone support. Now let's say that you are very lucky and don't have any problems, well in that case you are one of those "Good" reviews, but if you any kind of part failure like the many people on facebook groups do then you fall into the "Bad" review. If you happen to see the large amount of happy customer reviews from some groups you will see a pattern where the bikes were purchased and serviced from Dealers throughout the U.S. Here in Canada there are NO DEALERS and NO PARTS. So to sum it up if you are a Canadian Purchaser, you will have extreme difficulty getting any Warranty Support and if you are one of the lucky ones that does, get ready to wait a long long time and go through lots of trial and error. If you are not a very technically minded person you will have yet another challenge to get the parts installed when and if they come. So take a long hard look at that attractive price and ask yourself if you are willing to gamble that money on a Lucky experience! Now in all fairness I should tell you what happened to me. After I made the purchase and before I was provided any shipping info, I tried to change the bike to a different model. I was unable to reach anyone to help me do that and then the bike arrived without any notice after only 6 days. I tried again to return the bike and was unable to reach anyone by phone or email. Yep, you guessed it I was stuck with the bike so I figured I might as well try and enjoy it. My first issue was with the horrible Torque Sensing Pedal Assist. It delivers far too much power with very little force so you find yourself having to constantly stop and start pedalling, there is no way to ride while pedalling on a flat ground because the bike will just keep going faster and faster so you have to stop pedalling, wait to slow down and then start again. Support ignored my complaints so I gave up. First ride of this season the display said "Connection Error" after powering up. I'm very good at troubleshooting basic problems and I was at a loss. I emailed tech support on May 7th 2024 and they did get back to me. On the 8th they advised that they will ship out a new Display and confirmed my Canadian address. On the 13th I asked if I will be notified when the part is shipped and they asked for my patience. On the 14th I asked if it had been shipped yet and they said they would urge the warehouse to ship it. now the 15th and still no indication the part has been shipped. I just hope it comes before the Warranty runs out because if this part does not fix it I will be waiting once again.

We recently purchased a beautiful $2000 paperweight as it hasn’t worked straight out of the box . Showing connection error , we walked through all the connections , inspecting . Customer service doesn’t exist to help or even return the bike.
CanadaItching to ride
After plenty of reviews on YouTube and Google I purchased the Basalt. Love the blue colour. It was easy to assemble. It might be nice to have a second person help as I did. I took it for a quick run up and down the street. Unfortunately it is still winter here in Alberta so I have to wait. It is very responsive and comfortable. If you are looking for an affordable e-bike this one may be for you.
